Santa Fe,TX : Santa Fe woman dies in two-vehicle crash on December, Tuesday 26th 2017
An 80-year-old Santa Fe woman was killed late Tuesday when the vehicle she was driving ran into another car at the intersection of FM 646 and 28th Street.
Santa Fe police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of FM 646 South and 28th Street about 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Greg Boody, spokesman for the department.
Police believe Maurine Pagel, 80, failed to stop as she was crossing FM 646 and struck another car heading south, Boody said.
Pagel was taken to Mainland Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, Boody said.
The other driver involved in the wreck was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released, Boody said.
Police closed traffic in the area until 9:30 p.m., Boody said.
The crash remained under investigation Wednesday and police are waiting for autopsy results, Boody said.
