Goshen, IN : Driver crashes in Goshen after sleep study on Tuesday, January 31st 2017
A 36-year-old Elkhart woman was injured Tuesday morning when her vehicle drifted off the roadway, hit a stop sign and crashed into a drainage ditch in Goshen.
Lucreasie Bell told Goshen police officers that she had participated in a sleep study overnight in Mishawaka and was driving to work in a 2009 Nissan Cube around 8 a.m. She suspected she must have fallen asleep as she was driving in the 2100 block of Eishenhower Drive North, approaching Carmen Court.
Officers determined that Bell’s vehicle drifted into the opposing lane of traffic as she drove on Eisenhower Drive North thenhit a stop sign at the intersection of Carmen Court before coming to rest in a drainage ditch.
Bell complained of ankle, chest and arm pain as a result of the crash. She was transported to Goshen Hospital by ambulance. Officers reported her vehicle had to be towed from the scene due to extensive damage from the accident.
