Loveland,CO : Loveland crash sends driver to hospital on May, Wednesday 2nd 2018
A crash involving a transport truck and a sedan in the 4700 block of Boyd Lake Avenue in Loveland on Wednesday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.
Traffic Sgt. Mike Halloran said one of the parties, the driver of a Pontiac Sunfire, suffered "serious injuries."
That person's status is not known to the Reporter-Herald as of Wednesday afternoon. Each vehicle had a driver but no passengers.
The collision happened about 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of Boyd Lake Avenue and Valley Oak Drive, just east of Boyd Lake and west of the Northern Colorado Regional Airport.
Based on the scene, a newer Ford F-350 transport truck sustained damage to the driver's side of the front bumper. The Sunfire, which ended up in a ditch several yards from the roadway, had heavy damage to the driver's side from the front door to the rear wheel.
Loveland police's Technical Crash Investigation Team was called to the scene to gather more details. Halloran said Wednesday afternoon that authorities have no reason to believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
The driver of the Sunfire was hospitalized, while the truck driver sustained only minor injuries.
Authorities closed the roadway from East County Road 30 and East 37th Street; residents of neighborhoods near Boyd Lake were forced to detour around.
This story will be updated as information becomes available.
