Springfield, VT : No serious injuries after truck crash and spilled 7,000 gallons of milk on Interstate 91 on Saturday, May 9, 2015
Vermont State Police responded to a milk truck that overturned on I-91 northbound Saturday night. The crash happened just before 10:30 p.m.
Police say when they arrived they found, Edward Nichols, 55, of Highgate, Vt., trapped underneath the steering wheel inside the vehicle. He was extracted and was transported to Springfield Hospital as a precaution.
The truck was hauling approximately 7,000 gallons of milk. Police say most of it spilled out of the vehicle when the hatches broke open when the vehicle crashed.
Several agencies responded to the scene including, Springfield Police Department, Springfield Fire and Rescue, Ascutney Fire Department, Hillside Auto Towing and Recovery, Agency of Natural Resources, and Hazmat.
The cause of the crash was not released.
