RICHWOOD, TX : 8-year-old Clute girl is clinging to life after a collision on Saturday, July 8, 2017

An 8-year-old Clute girl is clinging to life after a collision sent her into a car’s windshield Saturday night, authorities say.

The girl’s father, a 25-year-old Clute man, drove a 2013 Dodge sedan past a red light about 9:19 p.m. on FM 2004 and struck a 2006 Kia that was traveling south on Highway 288-B, states a late Saturday news release from Richwood police. Authorities believe the child was wearing her seatbelt improperly.
