Rain-slick roads cause chain-reaction crash in Pasadena

The first real rainstorm of the year set the scene for dangerous driving conditions on the roadways on Thursday.

The rain-slick road was at the center of a massive chain-reaction crash overnight in Pasadena. Multiple big rigs and regular cars slammed into each other on the 210-134 interchange.

A big rig lost control on the 210 East around midnight and slammed into the median near the 134 interchange. This triggered a chain-reaction crash involving multiple big rigs and regular cars. Fortunately, only the driver behind the first big rig crash suffered minor injuries.

The crash shut down the 210 East through the 134 Freeway transition tunnel.

Drivers say things happened so quickly, that they just couldn't help running into each other.

The wet weather also caused some flooding along the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles as well as the San Pedro area. Some drivers lost control, but no major injuries were reported.

Drivers are advised to take it slower on the roads, and keep a safe distance between you and the car in front of you.
