Brainerd,MN : Rear-end crash injures 3 on May,Monday 21th 2018

Three drivers were injured, but only one was transported to a hospital following a crash at 8:06 a.m. Monday, May 21.

The crash occurred on Highway 371 near Dew Drop Trail Northwest in Shingobee Township near Walker.


The Minnesota State Patrol reported an Impala was traveling south on Highway 371, when it slowed in traffic to make a left turn onto Dew Drop Trail Northwest. A Pontiac was also southbound on Highway 371 and rear-ended the Impala. The Impala was then pushed forward and struck in the northbound lane by a Chevrolet Silverado traveling north, the state patrol reported.

The driver of the Impala, Eugene T. Stangel, 29, Cass Lake, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids for non-life-threatening injuries. It was not known if he was wearing a seat belt, the state patrol reported. The driver of the Silverado, Trevor J. Johnson, 16, Longville, and the driver of the Pontiac, Emily M. Shelton, 25, Walker, had non-life-threatening injuries, but were not transported to a hospital.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office, Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, Walker Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance assisted at the scene.
