Hearne, TX : Woman killed in car crash on Wednesday on Texas 6 on Wednesday night, June 15, 2016

A woman was killed in Hearne late Wednesday night after the car she was driving was hit by an oncoming pickup, authorities said.

According to Hearne police, a woman was driving a silver Volvo southbound on Texas 6 on Wednesday night. Just after 10 p.m., as the woman was exiting Hearne city limits, she overcorrected and went into the northbound lane, where she was hit by a man traveling northbound in a Chevy pickup.

The driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital and released later after being treated for minor injuries, while the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Texas 6 in Hearne was closed for about two hours as police worked the scene of the collision.
