URBANDALE, IA : 1 dead in early morning Iowa crash on Friday, 1st March 2024

One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Urbandale early Friday morning.

Sgt. Chad Underwood with the Urbandale Police Department said the accident happened just after 4:00 a.m. south of the 86th Street and Douglas Avenue intersection. That’s right in front of the Urbandale Police Department.

Police closed 86th Street from Douglas Avenue to Colby Parkway until around 7:15 a.m., in order to investigate the scene and have the vehicles towed. The road is now open again.

Police expect to release more information about the crash later Friday.
