Copeville, TX : Two Farmersville residents killed in head-on crash on rural Collin County road on Sunday, June 5, 2016

Two men from Farmersville died overnight after one of them drove into the wrong side of a Collin County highway and crashed into the other man’s car.

The crash was reported about 9:10 p.m. on Highway 78, just north of Copeville, said Sgt. Lonny Haschel, spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities believe Anastacio Rosas, 28, was driving south on Highway 78 when he crossed the center line of the two-lane road and crashed head-on into a Cadillac Eldorado.

The driver of the Cadillac, identified as 57-year-old Robert Crider, died at the scene.

His passenger, whose name has not been released, was seriously injured and taken by air ambulance to Medical Center of Plano.

Rosas was also airlifted to Medical Center of Plano but died shorty after arriving.

Haschel said investigators had not determined what led Rosas to veer onto the wrong side of the highway, which begins as East Grand Avenue in Dallas County and runs through Collin County.
