One person died in a three-vehicle crash at Ohio 747 and Port Union Road in West Chester Township just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Troy Stapelton, 62, of Fairfield was killed when a West Chester man ran a red light and crashed into his car, according to police.
Terrence Strader, 32, ran the red light just moments after being involved in a hit-and-run crash on 747 between Mackenzie Court and Union Centre Boulevard, police said.
Strader had crashed his Chevy Avalanche into the back of a Honda Civic driven by Christy Martin of Hamilton at around 8:30 a.m., according to a press release. Strader then passed her and continued southbound on 747.
Martin was treated and released at the scene.
Strader then crashed into Stapelton's Toyota Prius at around 8:35 a.m. at the intersection of 747 and Port Union Road. Stapelton was pronounced dead at the scene. He was an employee of Universal Transportation Systems.
Strader was trapped, extricated by firefighters and taken to West Chester Hospital.
Amanda Chew of Cincinnati was in a vehicle that was sideswiped during the crash. She was not injured.
Police are consider speed a factor in the crash.
Police say charges are pending.
The southbound lanes of the intersection were closed until 12:15 p.m.
