Wall Lake, SD : Three men seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 42 near Wall Lake on Saturday, December 19, 2015

Three people are recovering from serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 42 near Wall Lake.

South Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a 31-year-old Canistota man was driving east on Highway 42 at about 6:44 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle crossed over the center line and hit another vehicle head-on.

The other driver, a 20-year-old Sioux Falls man, and his passenger, a 24-year-old man, as well as the 31-year-old driver, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries that aren't considered to be life-threatening.

It's unclear whether either driver was wearing a seatbelt. The passenger wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

A Highway Patrol spokesman says charges against the 31-year-old driver are pending.

An investigation is ongoing.
