Allentown,PA : New Tripoli motorcyclist hurt in Berks crash with car, police say on May, Friday 18th 2018

New Tripoli motorcyclist was badly injured last week in northeast Berks County when he collided with an oncoming car that turned into his path, police said Friday.

Robert C. Napolitano, 23, was riding his motorcycle north on State Street in Longswamp Township at 5:05 p.m. May 11 when the accident happened, state police at Reading said.

Nichole R. Mann, 25, of Macungie was southbound on State Street when she turned her car left for Mountain Road and crashed into Napolitano’s oncoming bike, police said.

Napolitano was taken by Topton EMS ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Police said he was wearing a helmet, but his injuries were serious.

Mann, who was not injured, was cited for failure to yield safely before making a left turn, police said.

The accident happened about four miles southwest of Macungie.
