Orlando , FL : Orange County deputy injured and hospitalized after hit by another Car at intersection in Orange county on Wednesday , March 11th 2015
An Orange County sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized and one man was charged after a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning, according to officials.
Deputy Andrew Bryant, 25, was responding to a call about shots being fired when a car T-boned his cruiser at Texas Avenue and Oak Ridge Road around 3:30 a.m., said the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The impact sent Bryant's cruiser flying several yards away.
"[I heard] a big thundering, roaring noise. It was so bad. It was really, really loud,” said George Badilla, a resident.
Rafael Harrison, 29, and Antione Ladson, 21, who were inside the other vehicle, ran away after the crash, but were later taken into custody then transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, deputies said.
“That vehicle was not involved in the original call. But once they crashed, they bailed out of the car and fled, which is unusual after a crash. So, the deputies chased them down immediately. We apprehended them and we recovered guns, cash and drugs out of that vehicle,” said Lt. Mike Crabb, of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
