A man was killed in a fatal crash Tuesday on Kirkwood Highway in Milltown, according to state police.
Police identified him Wednesday as 47-year-old Ronald C. Salcedo.
State police troopers and paramedics were called at 11:44 a.m. to the intersection of Kirkwood Highway (Del. 2) and Limestone Road (Del. 7) for the report of a pedestrian hit, said Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, a spokesman with
Delaware State Police.
The crash involved a minivan and a man, he said.
Salcedo was taken to Christiana Hospital following the crash, where he was pronounced dead, Hale said.
The investigation revealed the man, who police say was using a marked crosswalk, entered into the path of a 2006 Dodge Caravan, driven by Phillip A. Perkins, 57, of Middletown.
Perkins had a green light traveling in the eastbound direction of Kirkwood Highway when the crash occurred. He was properly restrained at the time of the crash, and was not injured, Hale said.
