BARRE, MA : Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Barre on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016
Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a car in Barre.
Acting Police Chief James Sabourin tells The Telegram & Gazette that a man was struck at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday on Route 122 near the Barre Family Health Center.
The man was taken by ambulance to a Worcester hospital where he died.
His name has not been made public.
Sabourin said weather conditions were poor, with rain and fog, and darkness was falling at the time of the crash. He said the driver who struck the pedestrian and several other motorists stopped.
State police are investigating and no charges have been filed.
