Tennessee, FL : Crash with pedestrian blocking Tennessee Street traffic An investigation into a traffic crash in the 1000 block of West Tennessee Street and struck Nickchen on Thursday, 30th January, 2020

A 19-year-old Florida State University student has died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning as she walked across West Tennessee Street.

Tallahassee police identified her as Natalie Nickchen. A driver ran the red light at the pedestrian crosswalk in the 1000 block of West Tennessee Street and struck Nickchen, police said.

"After consulting with the State Attorney’s Office, it was determined criminal charges were not applicable," said Officer Kevin Bradshaw, a TPD spokesman. "The driver will be issued the appropriate citations."
