Topeka,KS : Driver pronounced dead after I-70 crash on November, Sunday 10th 2017
Topeka police said a man died Sunday evening in a single vehicle crash in East Topeka.
Witnesses told officers they were driving in the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 when they spotted a white Chevrolet truck slide sideways, go through the southbound ditch and roll onto its roof. The vehicle could be seen at the top of a small hill on the south side of the highway just east of the Carnahan exit.
When police and the Kansas Highway Patrol arrived, they found one man inside the truck who was pronounced dead at the scene, police Lt. Aaron Jones said. He said it was unclear as to why the driver left the roadway.
Zac Shaner, of Lawrence, said he was in a car that was between him and the pickup before the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle.
