Glendale, AZ : 2 women die in Glendale crash at the intersection of 55th Avenue and Bethany Home Road on Sunday, 5th April, 2020

Two women, ages 18 and 39, died following a crash involving a Honda minivan and a Ford Mustang on Sunday night in Glendale, according to police officials.

Glendale police are investigating the crash, which happened around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of 55th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, police said.

After gathering witness statements, detectives determined the Mustang was going westbound on Bethany Home Road when it failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the minivan, officials said.

The women in the minivan were pronounced dead at the location, and the driver of the Mustang was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives are investigating whether speed or impairment were factors.

Bethany Home Road was closed from 51st to 59th avenues while detectives investigated the crash, police said.
