Man killed in Wednesday's multi-car crash in Auburn identified

A man who died in a three-car accident Wednesday night has been identified as 55-year-old Andrew Lee Levett of Macon County, authorities said.

Levett succumbed to injuries after the vehicle he was driving east on Lee Road 10 crossing over Highway 29 was struck at the South College Street intersection by a vehicle traveling south, Auburn Police Lt. Cedric Anderson said. After the two vehicles collided, they veered into a third car on the roadway.

Levett was taken to Opelika’s East Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.The occupants of the other two vehicles involved were examined by medical personnel at the scene and did not require hospitalization, Anderson said.

The accident remains under investigation by Auburn police.
