Adamstown, PA: Two men Killed in a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred on SR 228 near TR 178 in Adams Township on Friday night, 7th NOvember, 2014

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred on SR 228 near TR 178 in Adams Township. The crash occurred at 11:45pm on Friday, November 7th A Silver 2006 Hyundai Sonata was driven by Christopher I. Meyer, 31, of Republic, Ohio. Meyer was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt Antony B. Ryon, 26, of Tiffin, Ohio was a passenger in the vehicle and was wearing a seatbelt, but was also pronounced dead at the scene. Both Meyer and Ryon were transported to the Tiffin Morgue by the Seneca County Coroner’s Office. Meyer was northbound on SR 228 when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. He then ran off the right side of the road, struck a stop sign, and overturned multiple times coming to rest after striking multiple trees. The vehicle then became fully engulfed in flames. The crash remains under investigation at this time. It is believed that alcohol is a factor in this crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Green Springs Fire Department, Green Springs EMS, Republic EMS, Seneca County Coroner’s Office, and Peacock’s wrecker service.
