URSA, IL : IDOT worker spraying ice melt hurt in crash near Ursa on Tuesday, December 20th 2016

An Illinois Department of Transportation worker suffered minor injuries when the truck he was driving rolled over Tuesday afternoon east of Ursa.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department said Michael E. Runk, 47, of Quincy, was spraying ice-melt liquid while driving a 1995 International 4900 on Ill. 61 east of Ill. 96 at 12:58 p.m. when the truck ran off the road. The truck drove down the ditch about 1/10 of a mile before Runk brought the truck back onto the road. However, the liquid in the tank shifted causing the truck to roll on its side.

Runk was taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment.

The scene was cleared by IDOT.

Assisting were the Adams County Ambulance Service, the Mendon Fire Department and the Ursa Fire Department.
