Belle Plaine, MN : 1 hurt after six-car crash on Highway 169 near Belle Plaine on Tuesday, 22nd January 2019

The Scott County Sheriff's Office says one person was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries after a six-car crash Tuesday on Highway 169 and German Road near Belle Plaine.

Sheriff Luke Hennen said the crash started when a pickup lost control, crossed the median and struck a semi - setting off a chain reaction.

The road was closed for a time because of downed electrical wires, but has since reopened.

The cause remains under investigation, though Hennen said winter road conditions are believed to have been a factor.
