Orange County, FL : Tavares motorcyclist killed in Orange County crash on Tuesday, 17th March, 2020

A 38-year-old motorcyclist from Tavares died Tuesday after colliding with a car that ran a stop sign and turned into his path, Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes said.
Steven Winters was driving south on Orange Blossom Trail near the Callahan neighborhood when a Ford van driven by 55-year-old Daniel Meeks drove into the intersection to turn left onto West Central Boulevard, bypassing a stop sign without slowing, Montes said.
Winters’ motorcycle hit the passenger side of Meeks’ van.
Winters was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he later died, Montes said.
The crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending against Meeks.
