TYNGSBORO, MA : A 31-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday, January, 21st 2018

A 31-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday afternoon on Pawtucket Boulevard near the entrance to Greater Lowell Technical High School.

The woman, driving a silver Toyota Camry XLE, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to a statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Tyngsboro Police Chief Richard Howe.

Two passengers in the other vehicle, a white Ford Explorer XL, were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The individuals involved in the crash and where they are from have not been identified. Police Chief Richard D. Howe said officials were working on notifying next of kin.

No charges had been filed as of early Sunday evening.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 1 p.m. after a call came in about the accident.

The vehicles had extensive damage to their fronts. The driver's airbag in the Camry was deployed. Both airbags in the Explorer were deployed. Debris littered the road, and a few pieces could be spotted yards away on the snow along Pawtucket Boulevard.

A State Police investigator arrived at the scene to take photos of both vehicles. A glittery pink bag lay on top of the car. In the upper left corner of the rear windshield was a pink sticker featuring the Tyngsboro High School tiger mascot.

The accident remains under investigation by the District Attorney's Office, the Tyngsboro Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
