A child was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Winchester on Thursday morning.
Police said the crash happened at 11:30 a.m. on Dinah Shore Boulevard.
According to police, a minivan was traveling south on Highway 41-A and stopped at a red light at the intersection of the 41-A Bypass when another vehicle rear-ended the minivan at a high rate of speed, pushing it into a pickup truck.
Two adults and two children were riding in the minivan. One of the passengers, a 7-year-old, was pronounced dead at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester.
The other child, the victim’s twin brother, was flown by helicopter to the hospital.
The children’s father suffered serious injuries. Two elderly women in the vehicle that rear-ended the minivan also suffered serious injuries.
