Lebanon, IN : Lebanon man killed in motorcycle crash on April, Saturday 15th 2017
According to a Lebanon Police Department press release early Saturday evening, a Lebanon man was killed after a truck struck the motorcycle he was riding.
According to the LPD, a preliminary investigation showed Michael Hengen, 52, was riding a motorcycle south on Patterson Street and disregarded a stop sign. While in the intersection of W. South and Patterson streets, a truck hit Hengen at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Police reports said the truck, driven by 16-year-old Tyler Cadle, of Kirklin, tried to stop. But the truck and motorcycle collided, knocking Hengen a few feet from the motorcycle.
Witham medics transported Hengen to an Indianapolis hospital with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead a short while later.
Cadle, who also suffered injuries, was last reported to be in stable condition.
LPD, Witham Medics, Lebanon Fire Department, Center Township Fire Department, BCSO, and the WPD all were dispatched to the scene. A 911 call alerted the responding agencies to the accident.
The Marion County Coroner Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The accident is still under investigation.
