Horry County, SC : One person dead and two others injured following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 378 Monday morning, February 16, 2015
One person was killed and two people were sent to the hospital after a crash on U.S. 378 around 6:30 a.m. Monday, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Melanie Boyer, 32, of Myrtle Beach, died at Conway Medical Center ER around 8:30 this morning from internal injuries she suffered during the crash, according to Deputy Horry County Coroner Tony Hendrick.
According to S.C. Highway Patrol, one person, driving a 2006 Ford Sport Utility, was traveling east on U.S. 378 and intended to make a left turn onto a private drive. At the same time, Boyer, who was driving a 2001 Ford, was traveling west on U.S. 378.
The driver of the Ford Sport Utility failed to yield the right of way while turning left and struck Boyer's car.
A passenger in the 2001 Ford and the driver of the Ford Sport Utility were also both taken to the hospital.
Boyer was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Highway Patrol.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
