Car crash involving deer kills woman, injures boy in White Pine

An 18-year-old woman is dead after a car threw a deer through her car in Jefferson County Sunday night.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a car was traveling on Highway 25 E when it struck a deer standing in the southbound lane at about 7:20 p.m. in White Pine. The impact threw the deer through the windshield of a Honda Accord traveling in the opposite direction. The car then ran off the roadway and hit a tree, killing its driver Kenda L. Talley, 18, of Talbott.

The accident also injured a 13-year-old boy traveling in the car. The two other passengers traveling with her, including an 11-year-old boy, werenot injured. The driver of the Nissan also didnot suffer any injuries.

Officials said they wont be filing any charges.
