One person is dead after a moped crashed into an SUV on North Pine Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses told the Spartanburg Police Department that a moped with a male driver and female passenger crashed into a burgundy SUV at the intersection of Langdon Street as the larger vehicle was attempting to make a left turn, police said in a statement.
The male moped driver died at the scene. The female moped passenger was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver of the SUV was not injured, police said.
Police and the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
