Santa Rosa Beach, FL : Freeport man seriously injured in U.S. 98 wreck in Walton County on Friday morning, March 31, 2017

A Freeport man was seriously injured Friday morning when he ran a red light and hit one car in an intersection, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

Randall Allen Ross, who is 57, was traveling east on U.S. Highway 98 approaching its intersection with County Road 393 just before 7 a.m., the release said.

Two drivers on CR 393 started traveling through the intersection on a green light. Ross hit one of the cars, which spun around and struck the other car.

Karen Page Clark, a 46-year-old from Smyrna, Tennessee, had minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital.

The other driver, Bobby Wayne Slay, a 35-year-old DeFuniak Springs man, also had minor injuries.

Ross was taken to Bay Medical. He was charged with violating a traffic control device. the release said.
