Wilmington, NC : One person injured in a three-vehicle accident on Shipyard Boulevard on Wednesday, April 8, 2015

A Wilmington woman was transported to the hospital after an afternoon crash at the intersection of Shipyard Boulevard and Rutledge Drive.

Police said around 2:40 Tuesday afternoon, 40-year-old Lauren Flanagan, who was driving a white Kia was making turning onto Shipyard Boulevard from Rutledge Drive.

When Flanagan pulled out into the roadway she was struck by a BMW. She then collided with a tractor trailer.

Police say Flanagan had to be extricated from her vehicle by firefighters.

Both cars were totaled in the crash. No one else was injured.

Police charged Flanagan with failure to yield the right of way.
