Killeen, TX : Pedestrian died after hit by car on East Rancier Avenue Friday evening, March 31, 2017
Police officers are investigating a crash that left one person dead late Friday evening on East Rancier Avenue, according to a news release issued by police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez.
Officers responded to a call that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle in the 3300 block of East Rancier Avenue at 10:23 p.m. Friday.
When they arrived they found an injured man, 58-year-old Joseph Gregory Malbroue, and a white Toyota Avalon. Malbroue was taken to Seton Medical Center-Harker Heights in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.
According to the new release, the driver was heading east on Rancier and Malbroue was attempting to cross to the south and failed to yield to traffic, resulting in the accident.
Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown pronounced Melbroue dead at 10:59 p.m. Friday. The driver of the Toyota was not injured in the crash.
The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate the crash and information will be released as it becomes available.
