Wauseon, OH : One dead, tanker ablaze in Ohio Turnpike crashes on Thursday evening, June 23, 2016
Authorities say at least one person is dead and a tanker carrying 3,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen burst into flames following multiple crashes in northwest Ohio.
The State Highway Patrol says the crashes happened Thursday evening on the Ohio Turnpike in Fulton County.
A minor crash involving several vehicles backed up traffic near Wauseon (WAW'-see-ahn). A commercial vehicle lost its load.
At least one person then died after a semi crashed into a tanker truck and sent it into two other vehicles. Four commercial vehicles were involved. The tanker caught fire and officials say the blaze could take hours to be extinguished.
The victim hasn't been identified.
Traffic is being diverted.
The crash remains under investigation.
