Punta Gorda, FL : Man injured in a two-car accident at Duncan Road on I-75 in Charlotte County on Monday afternoon, Oct 26, 2015

A man in his mid-60s was injured in a two-car accident at Duncan Road (Highway 17) and the southbound ramp of I-75 in Punta Gorda on Monday afternoon, a Charlotte County Fire-EMS spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said fire-EMS personnel responded shortly after 3 p.m. to a scene with one vehicle rolled onto its roof and the man trapped inside. Firefighters extricated him, and he was transported in serious condition to a trauma center via Aeromed.

An adult woman in the other vehicle was not injured, and a child was evaluated at the scene and did not require transport.

The outside lane of northbound Duncan Road is closed.
