Asheville, NC : Pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash in Asheville on Saturday March 5 2016


The Asheville Police Department said a man was killed Saturday in a hit-and-run and they're asking for the public's help to find the suspect.
Officers said the man was struck in the parking lot of The Asheville Inn on Acton Circle around 6:30 p.m.
The victim was transported to the hospital where they died from their injuries.
Police identified the victim as Richard Jared Peters, 39, of Asheville.
Investigators say that Peters was hit by a green 2002 Toyota Highlander SUV, and that the driver of the SUV fled the scene.
The SUV may be displaying a 30-day temporary registration plate, and has a Miami Dolphins sticker in the top left corner of the rear window.
Investigators are developing leads into the case and will continue to do so until the suspect is located.
