A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a wrong-way driver in Litchfield Saturday night.
A passenger on the motorcycle was flown by helicopter to a hospital. Her condition was not available. The driver of the car going the wrong way had non-life-threatening injuries.
That driver, Charlie Logsdon, 87, of Litchfield, was heading eastbound on Illinois Route 16 in the westbound lanes just before 8 p.m. when his car collided with a westbound motorcycle head-on, according to the Illinois State Police.
The motocyclist, Robert Reiher, 49, of Carlinville, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger on his 2003 black Honda motorcycle, Madeline Reiher, 18, of Carlinville, was taken by Arch Air Medical Service to a Springfield hospital.
Logsdon was taken to a hospital in Litchfield.
The crash is being investigated by the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash reconstruction. It wasn't immediately clear why Logsdon was going the wrong way.
