New Albany, IN : A police officer was injured in a crash at Floyd County on Monday, 26th September, 2016
A police officer was taken to the hospital following a crash in Floyd County Monday night.
The crash happened at Vincennes and Elm streets in New Albany.
Police are not releasing many details.
WLKY is told the officer injured his or her hand in the collision.
A passenger from the car was also taken to the hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries.
New Albany Chief Todd Bailey said Indiana State Police are now handling the investigation, which is common procedure when injuries are involved.
Witnesses said the officer was chasing another car at the time but New Albany police haven't confirmed that, saying that they can't comment on the investigation.
