Caribou ,ME : Two women injured and taken to hospital ater Two Car Crash on Monday ,May 18th 2015

Two women were taken to a local hospital Monday following a two-car crash.

Wafaa Sleem, 54, was eastbound on Hatch Drive in a 2015 Subaru when she attempted to cross Main Street without yielding to traffic, according to Caribou police Officer Kevin St. Peter.

The Subaru struck a 2014 Jeep driven by 46-year-old Clairann Floyd, who had been northbound on Main Street, the officer reported.

Sleem suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken by members of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance service to Cary Medical Center in Caribou after she complained of some pain, according to St. Peter.

Floyd also complained of some pain and was taken to the same hospital by private vehicle, the officer said.

Floyd's 20-year-old son, a passenger in her vehicle, was not injured, according to St. Peter.

All of the occupants were wearing seat belts and the air bags in the vehicles deployed.

Both vehicles received extensive front-end damage and were towed from the scene.

No charges were filed, according to St. Peter.
