KENNEBUNK, ME : Police investigating multi-vehicle crash in Kennebunk on May, Saturday, 20th 2017
A crash between several passenger vehicles and two motorcycles sent a number of people to the hospital for treatment in Kennebunk on Saturday.
According to Kennebunk Deputy Chief of Police Michael F. Nugent, Kennebunk Police officers and fire personnel were dispatched about 4:30 p.m. Saturday to a multi-vehicle crash on Webber Hill Road at the intersection of Maguire Road.
"Initial investigation indicates that a westbound passenger car struck the rear of a second passenger car that had slowed for a vehicle turning onto Maguire Road, then flipped onto its roof, and struck two motorcycles that were traveling eastbound," Nugest said.
The drivers of one of the cars and one of the motorcycles were taken by ambulance to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, he said.
"The driver of the second motorcycle was taken by Lifeflight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland," Nugest said.
Webber Hill Road was closed between Clear Brooke Crossing and the Sanford town line for about two and a half hours following the accident.
Nugest said that the accident remains under investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
