Winona, MN : One person was injured in an accident in Rushford on Tuesday, December, 12th 2017

One person was injured in an accident at the intersection of Park Street and Hwy. 43 in Rushford on Tuesday morning.

Herbert Kristian Highum, 89, of Rushford, Minn., was traveling west on Park Street around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, when he failed to yield and hit a vehicle driven by Jon Taylor Peterson, 28, of Peterson, Minn. Peterson was traveling north on Hwy. 43 at the time.

Highum was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident and was taken to Winona Health with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Rushford Police Department and ambulance service assisted on the scene of the accident.
