Marshall,NC : Woman on way to work at Mars Hill University killed in crash on February, Monday 12th 2018

The North Carolina Highway Patrol was called to a fatal crash on Monday.

Troopers confirmed a fatality in the collision on Highway 213 in Madison County. According to Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Laurie Allison Fraser of Marshall was on her way to work at Mars Hill University when the crash occurred.

Fraser's Kia Spectra clipped the back right of a tractor-trailer moving into a turn lane, causing her vehicle to overturn, troopers said. She was ejected from the car and died on scene.

No violations were found with the tractor-trailer after an inspection, troopers said.

An inspection will be done on Fraser's vehicle Tuesday, but troopers said at this time it appears no charges will be filed.

A spokesperson for Mars Hill University confirmed Fraser was an employee of Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services and worked on campus.
