Altona, NY : Couple killed in head-on crash State Route 190 Clinton County on Friday January 8, 2016.
Police say a husband and wife in their 70s were killed when a driver trying to pass another vehicle on a rural highway in northern New York hit their car head on.
The accident happened at 2:45 p.m. Friday in the town of Altona at the northeast corner of New York state.
State police say 29-year-old Jesse Baker, of Morrisonville, was trying to pass another car on State Route 190 when he hit a Subaru driven by 74-year-old Audrey Lohse head on.
Audrey Lohse, of Burke, and her 77-year-old husband, Richard Lohse, were pronounced dead at the scene. Richard Lohse was riding in the front passenger seat.
Baker was taken to a hospital. His condition was not known.
The investigation is continuing.
