Ventura,CA : Two people died and two injured in crash Highway 101 near Ventura on Monday, June 22, 2015

Two people were killed and two were injured in a crash near Ventura Monday officials said.

The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 north of the State Beaches exit.

Preliminary information indicates that a vehicle crashed into a parked semitruck on the highway, the California Highway Patrol said.

The Ventura County Fire Department also responded to the crash and said they initially received a report from highway patrol that there was one person dead, while another person was trapped in the vehicle. It was later reported that two people were killed, while two other people got out of the vehicle, officials said.
