Alexandria, MN : No injuries reported in five-vehicle crash on Tuesday, December, 26th 2017

A five-vehicle crash Tuesday evening on Highway 29 North looked serious, but did not result in any reported injuries.

The crash, at the intersection of Carneva Acres Northeast, was reported shortly before 5:30 p.m., Dec. 26.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the first vehicle, driven by Christopher Rudy, 33, of Alexandria, was northbound on Highway 29, waiting to make a left turn on Carneva Acres Northeast, when it was rear-ended by the second vehicle, driven by Zachary Schluter, 22, of Parkers Prairie.

Rudy’s vehicle was pushed in front of another vehicle, which was driven by Nicholas Schlapkohl, 23, of Alexandria, and those two vehicles collided, according to the State Patrol.

A fourth vehicle, driven by Thomas Williams, 47, of Alexandria, was stopped because of the crashed vehicles blocking the traffic lanes and ended up being rear-ended by a fifth vehicle, which was driven by Ryan Henrichs, Jr., 23, of Alexandria, according to the State Patrol.

All five drivers were wearing seat belts and no injuries were reported.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Shutters Towing and Alex Viking Towing assisted at the scene.
