Batavia, N.Y : At least one injured in rear-end collision in Alexander Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2017

A rear-end collision Tuesday afternoon on Route 98 led to one person being transported by Mercy EMS after being removed from a damaged vehicle.
The accident occurred around 2:15 near Stroh Road. It was reported as a motor vehicle accident with serious injuries.
Alexander and fire and rescue crews responded, along with Genesee County sheriff’s deptuies, along with Attica and state police.
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear. In addition to transporting the injured person for medial treatment, crews worked quickly to clear the scene, which reopened to traffic 30 minutes later.
Both vehicles are being removed from the scene. One vehicle’s trunk was crushed all the way to its back seat area.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available.
