HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL : Man sought in Florida carjacking on I-75 ramp after climbing into medical vehicle, crashing it on Friday, 22nd March 2024

Authorities are looking for a man who jumped into a medical vehicle in Hillsborough County and drove off, later crashing it in a lot, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident happened early Friday in the area of the southbound I-75 exit ramp to westbound I-4.

According to troopers, an American Medical Response supervisor came across a stolen pickup around 2 a.m. that had crashed on the exit ramp. One man ran down the embankment when the supervisor arrived and another man was standing in the roadway, FHP said.

The man jumped on the side of the American Medical Response-marked Chevy Tahoe and climbed inside the vehicle with the supervisor still inside, troopers said.
