Pasadena, TX : Deer Park police officer injured after a wreck on Friday morning, November 4, 2016

A Deer Park police officer was taken to the hospital the morning of Friday, Nov. 4 after his patrol car was struck by a truck pulling out of a driveway, police said.

The accident occurred at about 7:44 a.m., Lt. Frank Hart said. An F-250, traveling at low speed, struck the driver's side of the patrol car, trapping the officer inside. The officer, who is not being named at this time, was conscious and talking to first responders. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation, Hart said.

The door of the patrol car had to be pried off to release the injured officer, he said.
The driver of the F-250 was not impaired and will not face any charges.
