A passenger inside a truck involved in a crash Monday morning on Gandy Boulevard died from his injuries, authorities said.
The crash happened just before 10 a.m. in front of the RaceWay gas station and prompted the closure of the westbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a Ford F-150 truck, driven by a 43-year-old St. Petersburg man, was heading east on Gandy while a Ford Mustang, with an 18-year-old Brandon man behind the wheel, was traveling west.
