Roseburg, OR : One dead after fiery crash on Lookingglass Road on Wednesday, August 30, 2017

Police are working to identify the driver of a vehicle who died during a Wednesday morning crash on Lookingglass Road in Roseburg.

At approximately 9:39 a.m., witnesses reported that a single vehicle had crashed near the intersection of Lookingglass Road and Nandy Drive. Crews from the Lookingglass Fire Department arrived first to the scene and discovered the vehicle off the roadway and in a dry creek bed, according to police.

The vehicle was engulfed in flames when the firefighters arrived.

After the vehicle was extinguished, crews located the body of the deceased driver inside, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the driver and will then notify the driver’s family.

Personnel from Bay Cities Ambulance, Oregon State Police, Douglas Forest Protective Association and Douglas Electric assisted.
